Criminal Proceedings

There is an increasing number of ways to fall foul of the criminal law system, ranging from simple speeding offences to drink drive offences to complex cases such as fraud. You may even be arrested and prosecuted in connection with financial crime allegations relating to HM Revenue and Customs, or as a result of contravening Health and Safety at Work regulations.

Drink Driving Information

Finding yourself involved directly or implicated in criminal proceedings is an incredibly worrying and frightening experience, especially if you are arrested and detained in police custody for any period of time.

We can help you with all types of criminal offences, irrespective of your age or the severity of the alleged offence.

'We can provide advice and assistance if you are detained at a Police Station. It is vital that you know and understand what your rights are under these circumstances, particularly with regard to how long you can be kept in custody, how to conduct yourself and what you should and should not say while under arrest.

If you are charged or summonsed before the Magistrates’ Court we can help you. Appearing in Court alone can be a daunting experience. There is much to know and difficult decisions to make. You will be asking yourself:-

  • How should I plead?
  • How strong is the evidence against me?
  • What should I say?
  • What is likely to happen to me?

We can advise you of your rights in Court, how to obtain the evidence against you, the strength of it and how you should plead. We can represent you at every stage of the proceedings be it in the Magistrates’ Court, or if the mater is more serious, in the Crown Court.

Our specialist adviser in criminal law will meet with you, discuss your case and advise you thoroughly with regard to it. The case will be fully and carefully prepared in a timely manner to ensure it is properly and expertly presented in Court.

We offer an initial meeting for a fixed fee. During this we can establish the issues in the case, advise you generally with regard to it and answer many of those questions worrying you. It is important to take advice and the earlier you do so the better because how you respond, particularly in an interview at the Police Station or elsewhere, can be crucial.
