If you die without making a will then the law has a strict system for dividing your estate between your relatives. You might decide to let the law take its course but it can have the most unexpected results.

Your widow or widower might not inherit the family home (depending on its value, whether you have children, and whether the home is in joint names).

Money - whether small or large amounts - might be tied up in long term trusts for children at 18 (and are you quite sure your grandchildren should be let loose with money at 18?).

Step children which you haven't adopted are not going to be included.

Remember - making a will won't kill you!
